The word »it« is ubiquitous, and often used as a modifier in the most inappropriate ways. Whereas the placement of this word in a sentence should be to refer to the noun immediately preceding »it«, authors often use the word to refer to a noun w-a-y back in the sentence, leaving readers to wonder what on earth is meant.
